ITINERARY:
Day-1 Kochi Arrival- Munnar Arrival at Kochi. Proceed to Munnar (130 kms/ 4 hrs). Enroute, visit Cheeyappara & Valara waterfalls. Enjoy boating at lake. O/n at hotel in Munnar.
Day-2 Munnar Local Sightseeing Visit Eravikulam National Park, Mattupetty Dam (enjoy boating), Echo Park, Flower Show. O/n at hotel in Munnar.
Day-3 Munnar- Thekkady Proceed from Munnar to Thekkady (100 kms/ 3 hrs). Visit Periyar wildlife sanctuary; Cruise over Peeriyar lake to see wild life. Guests can also enjoy elephant rides; visit plantation tour, jungle trekking etc. O/n at hotel in Thekkady.
Day-4 Thekkady- Alleppey Proceed from Thekkady to Alleppey (140 Kms/ 4 Hrs). Board your Houseboat & sail through narrow canals, coconut lagoons in the Backwaters. O/n at Houseboat in Alleppey.
(Note: Instead of Alleppey, guests can also stay at Kumarakom- another Backwater destination. Distance b/w Alleppey & Kumarakom is only 35 kms)
Day-5 Alleppey- Kovalam Travel to Kovalam (170 kms/ 3.5 hrs). Visit Lighthouse beach, Hawa beach, Velliyani Lake, Vizhinjam Rock Cut Cave temple. Enjoy at beach. O/n at hotel in Kovalam
Day-6 Kovalam- Kanyakumari Proceed to Kanyakumari (110 kms/ 2 hrs) in Tamilandu. Visit Kumari amman Temple (a Shaktipeetha Temple), Vivekanand Rock Memorial, Wax Museum, Thiruvallur statue. O/n at hotel in Kanyakumari.
Day-7 Kanyakumari- Rameshwaram Proceed to Rameshwaram (330 km/6 hrs). Visit Ramnathswamy temple (a Jyotirlinga temple). Also, visit Dhanushkodhi beach (20 kms), renowned for association with Ramayana. O/n at hotel in Rameshwaram
Day-8 Rameshwaram- Madurai Early morning (4 am), proceed to temple for "Mani Darshan". Travel to Madurai (160 kms/3.5 hrs). Visit Meenakshi temple, dedicated to Goddess Parvati, Thirupparamkunram temple (one of the six abodes of Lord Muruga). O/n at hotel in Madurai.
Day-9 Departure Depart to Madurai airport/ railway station for onward journey. Tour ends.
